Coffee Prince is a light hearted Korean drama which is really popular in Asia after its airing. So what exactly made Coffee Prince a big hit in Asia? She even cut the long hair she kept so as to suit the image of Eun Chan. There were also lots of praises about her acting skills (both from the public, as well as insiders). Han Kyul seems to be the grown up version of Tae In as both of them are confident and certain of what they want, but they're also at the same time childish but cute. Han Kyul is more reserved as compared to more spontaneous Tae In, hence Han Kyul can be rightly considered as the more matured version of Tae In. We dont really get to see the acting skills of Gong Yoo when he was in Biscuit Teacher and Star Candy, therefore I thought he was juz an cute looking actor, with superficial acting skills. But he really surprised me with his ability to act out the perfect emotional struggle which Han Kyul was going through and he really touched me with his acting in Coffee Prince. His great acting brought Han Kyul alive and made Coffee Prince an enjoyable show to watch.

Besides the great acting skills from both Gong Yoo and Eun Hye, they also have an excellent on screen chemistry. The two of them make a perfect couple and I cant help but smile whenever there were scenes of Han Kyul and Eun Chan's sweet moments. Their interaction on screen seems really natural and convincing. Besides the sweet moments, the hot bed scenes as well as the forced kiss between them were really memorable scenes of them.

Apart from the 2 main leads, Lee Seon Gyeon character as Choi Han Seong was also nicely performed. Although Lee Seon Gyeon may not that good-looking as compared to Gong Yoo, he still has a charm in him which draws the audience. Choi Han Seong also may not be as interesting a character as Han Kyul, but Lee Seon Gyeon managed not to make the character dull. And did I mention Lee Seon Gyeon's voice?? I really like his deep and voice(i dunno how to describe them but his voice is so nice to asp web hosting to).

I think Chae Jung Ahn is pretty but I find her acting average. Up till now, I still dun fully understand Yoo Joo's character. Maybe that's how Yoo Joo was supposed to be like- carefree ,unconstrained and hard to fathom. Sometimes its hard to read her expression and understand exactly her emotions she was trying to convey.... I dunno, but this can also how the director wans Yoo Joo to be portrayed as....

Apart from the 4 main leads, the 3 Princes played an important role as well. The Princes each have their own unique character. Min Yeop- the strong muscular blockhead who is totally devoted and loyal to his angel Eun Sae, Ha Rim- the cute and adorable guy who always go "My Chan!!", and the cool waffle guy Sun Ki, who cant help but be infected by the warm-hearted Eun Chan, enthusiastic Ha Rim and silly Min Yeop. To add on, there's also Mr Hong, the other president of Coffee Prince. He's really disgusting and unhygienic with his actions but he's still a nice guy overall who is really supportive of Eun Chan. The development of the supporting cast also helped to make Coffee Prince more complete as a whole and brings a feeling of warmth into the drama as we see the interaction and strong friendship between all the characters in the story.

Besides the cast and characters in the story, the design for the setting of Coffee Prince is also nicely done. The design of the Coffee Prince cafe was beautifully decorated. Eun Chan's small and cluttered house always filled with dolls/boxes of food for work reflects how hard it is for her to earn money, Han Kyul's auto insurance specialists and sleek house reflects his decisive and confident character, Han Seong's simple house with the garden and greenery around showed his simple and sensible character. The recording equipments, cute music player which also acts as a decoration, the guitar and all the other equipments in his house also refects his job as a musician.

Although contemporary art has moved beyond the Pop art of yesteryear, the most influential artists of the latter twentieth century have taken bold steps to include dog art as a central theme in their artistic endeavors. David Hockney, William Wegman, and George Rodrique, all still alive today, have not arbitrarily juxtaposed canines in their works but have put their furry friends on center stage to soak up the limelight, offering the art world new glimpse of mans best friend.

David Hockney (1937), who was born in Bradford England, spent the better half of his life in Los Angeles, California. At the age of eleven, Hockney knew that he wanted to be an artist. Similar to both David Hockney and William Wegman, George Rodrigue used dog art to exemplify his feelings about mans truest comrade. As Wegman used his own Weimaraners in his creations, so did Rodrique use the muse provided by his childhood companion named Tiffany who was transformed into the famed Blue Dog.

George Rodrigue, born and raised in Louisiana, began painting Blue Dog in tribute to his black and white terrier after her death in 1980. As it happened, Blue Dog eerily represented the Loup-Garou, or a back tax relief werewolf in many of Rodrigues depictions.(4) Blue Dog soon gained international recognition as an inveterate legend, especially in the earlier 1990s.

Working as a graphic artist, Rodrigue explored the use of silk-screen with Blue Dog, which allowed the image to appear crisp, clean, and stark. Both famous public figures and private art collectors have purchased Rodrigues works. Absolut Vodka and Xerox even commissioned the artist to do ad campaigns. In the book entitled Blue Dog (Viking/Penguin 1994), Rodrigue depicts the change of Tiffany into this relished pop icon.

In a dutch oven, add canola and brown pork. Remove to cool Add onion, brown until caramelized.

Add remaining ingredients and cook for twenty minutes. Pour ingredients (except pork) into blender and puree.

When puree has reached room temperature, add pork to glass baking dish and pour mixture over top.

Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight.

The following day, remove cover and bake at 350 for three hours.

Earlier that week, my husband and I spent time with my sister and her family near Portland. What on earth does that have to do with innovative companies? Read on.

On Sunday, my nephew, Logan, was busily working on a homework assignment with his friends Ryan and Dillon. It was amazing what these three sixth-graders were doing. Even more amazing was the all-out fanatical mobilization of eight adults (all of the kids' parents, plus Kirk and myself) to execute the project after it hit an enormous speed bump. After spending hours trying to get their video on to a DVD for the class, Logan asked for help. Many hours later, the various parents who had tried to figure it out threw in the towel, got a little sleep, and went to work.

Since they were unable to transfer the video to DVD, my sister gave up her computer for the day (the one she needs for her business, by the way), so Logan could take it to class to play the video.

The kids tried to get the volume high enough for Mr. Lee to hear, but he couldn't hear it, and admonished them for wasting 30 minutes of class time. Believe me, I had a few choice words to describe Mr. Lee at that point, none of which can be printed in that newsletter.

He did, however, give them one more night to fix the problem.

That evening, as the tension mounted, it was an all-out technical SWOT team attack. Luckily for my family, I married an IT guy.

Demonstrable valuing of differences. that includes the traditional dimensions such as gender, race, physical disability, etc. as well as the less visible dimensions, such as different ways of thinking or approaching the work to be done, different personal values, religious or spiritual beliefs, different lifestyles, etc.

9. Semi- or fully autonomous teams, who are free to solve most problems and make decisions on their own or by working directly with other teams -- without escalating to management for approval. that can and should include decisions about which of their creative ideas to further explore and which to kill off.

10. Direct employee involvement in innovation via routine team briefings with feedback, and involvement in the decisions on how work is organized and outcomes improved.

11. Goals relevant to innovation such as increase in number of new services launched, success rate of innovative products and services, decrease in non-value-added work due to process innovation, better speed to market, etc., and a means of measuring progress toward them.

12. Adequate resources to exploit ideas. Some examples include hiring temporary staff to cover some routine day-to-day functions while key team members dedicate themselves to bringing up a new business, funding market research for new ideas, and hiring process engineers to teach employees how to map and improve their work processes so they can free up more time to pursue new ideas.

As I look back on Logan's project, I see a lot of these.

The kids never questioned the necessity of going through many creative ideas and rejecting them before landing on the winner.

I must begrudgingly admit that Mr. Lee is excellent at pushing the kids to grow through the development of something new on their part rather than rote memorization, and he invests an incredible amount of time encouraging the development of their skills.

The kids and parents have gotten to know one another well, and enjoy a high level of trust with relatively little interpersonal conflict, and they accept their children's individual personalities as they are--quirks and all.

The kids had to work as an autonomous team, working through conflicts and making decisions without escalating to Mr. Lee.

And the list goes on.

In a way, what it takes for a company to innovate is not so different from what it takes for a kid to innovate, after all. It just takes a lot more discipline, focus, change management, and people skills.

The kids took their DVD to class the next day, and played it for Mr. Lee. They got an A+.

Five Big Mistakes that Could Ruin Your Small Business and How to Avoid Them

Many small businesses are stuck in limbo. Sales are sluggish or stagnant, and many small business owners have worn themselves out trying to be all things to their businesses. Trying to go it alone. Big businesses arent created from one person handling everything in the business. They are created by partnering, hiring and relying on the expertise of others. The Highway That Makes Turnarounds Possible

Product life-cycles are shortening, with new products hitting Halloween masks market faster and faster. At the same time, consumers are spending more time on the Internet looking for products and services, and seeking out suppliers who can deliver them with maximum value at a competitive price. This is a tough, challenging situation that should scare complacent businesses. But it offers exciting opportunities for smart business people who recognize the need to understand the external business environment and have the internal processes to enable them to quickly turn changes in the market into new products and services.

Rapid History of Rapid Growth

Back in the 1980s the notion of an Information Superhighway was touted around the mainstream media. Over the next few years this mind-boggling notion went from a science fiction scenario to a slow but functioning reality.

A few far-sighted manufacturing businesses installed fast always-on connections and some created websites, although most of them were little more than online brochures. A few also saw the benefits of e-mail but most dismissed the flexibility of the Internet as irrelevant to their business. Many invested significant amounts in alternative fixed technology that quickly became outdated such as EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) networks that connected two companies through a single dedicated line. Even the mighty Microsoft seemed to regard the Internet as a sideshow; it allowed Netscape to become the dominant Internet browser of the early Internet and well into the mid 1990s before realizing that it was missing a trick.

In many respects consumers were quicker to embrace the Internet, even with the limitations of dial-up access. In 1990 there were around 2.6 million people using the Internet, with 2 million of them in the United States . By the end of 1997, there were 99.96 million Internet users worldwide . Two years later there were 280 million worldwide, and within another two years it almost doubled to 530 million, with 16% of those accessing the Internet wirelessly. In 2005 global Internet users tipped over the magic billion to reach 1,080,000,000 users . Its largely thanks to consumer uptake that companies have been forced to recognize how the Internet can be used as both a marketing and a sales channel to reach huge markets

Because of the speed of this change, many businesses, and not just manufacturers, have not been able to keep up with developments missing out on opportunities to find new collaborative partners, actively market their products or develop new services for customers. A wide range of business have seen market share (and profits) slump as products become outdated faster than new products and services are introduced. They have seen costs slashed by Hiphoprnpbre producing in lower-cost countries and buying low cost technologies, as well as the introduction of alternative products and technologies.

According to one e-manufacturing site, the critical issues that need to be faced up to include:

Reduced consumer switching costs with the Internet making it easier for an existing customer to find, contact and collaborate with competitors

Rapid comparison of prices, particularly low value or commodity items, allowing customers to drive costs down faster than companies can improve performance

An increasing number of customers are placing their requirements and posting tender opportunities via the Internet, making it likely that organisations who are not linked to portals relevant to their industry will miss out on sales opportunities

The Internet provides opportunities for enhanced customer service (such as online updates for delivery etc) which in turn allows for organisations to differentiate themselves more easily

Recognising that there will be a need to invest as much in developing brand and services as there will be in leading edge production technology to enable businesses to stand out

Lastly, the Internet is driving the desire for consumers to place smaller orders, in shorter timescales whilst expecting a greater number of options something which manufacturers with inefficient systems will find significantly increases their production costs and reduces profits

Opportunity Bites

However, for other businesses, the rapid change in technologies has offered significant opportunities to turn things around. Take the case of Apple.

In 1997, when it was already clear that the Internet was here to stay, Wired magazine ran an alarming cover story about Apple Corporation, asking readers to Pray under the headline 101 Ways to Save Apple - An assessment of what can be done to fix a once-great company. In little over a decade Apple had gone from being a pioneer of mass personal computing to being a niche player serving a dwindling band of loyal users.

And now, just eight years or so after the call to rally round the iconic company, Apple is alive and very well. Its amazing recovery owes a lot to its out-of-the-blue dominance of portable digital music players, a product category that barely existed in 1997. In the first quarter of 2006 Apple shipped 8.5 million iPods, some 60% more than in the same quarter of 2005, taking total Marveldkmkfjkkesy sales to 50 million worldwide since 2001. With iPod sales bringing in $1.7 billion in Apples second quarter, the iconic music player now generates more money than Mac machines at $1.57 million. And now that it has started producing Macs with an Intel CPU, Apple is expecting the halo effect of the iPod to lure Windows users into buying Macintosh machines.

Thats not all. Apple, whos product dominates the market through their approach to partnering and brand development, also dominate another category that didnt exist in 1997 downloadable music. In the space of just over two years, since Apples iTunes Music Store was launched, broadband Internet users worldwide are now spending more than $1bn a year on song downloads. Apple has sold more than 600 million songs in two and a half years, and in the US iTunes ranks as one of the leading music stores alongside major bricks-and-mortar retailers. It has also added Podcasts and Video downloads to its offering.

Industry analysts reckon that iPod and iTunes have not only added to Apples bottom American Pop Cultureujxtsfvb they have also given a significant boost to the companys machine brand. In short, Apples fortunes have been turned around by music, yet music wasnt mentioned in any of the 101 ways to save Apple in 1997. There are few magazines more switched on than Wired magazine yet nobody there suggested music as a route to salvation it was down to the insight of the Apple management and their ability to size up an opportunity and deliver a solution which saved the day.

Before iTunes and the iPod, the music industry had been fighting a rearguard action against illegal file sharing millions of people copying each others music for free through peer-to-peer systems such as Napster and Kazaa. For many analysts, the music industry was broken with no prospect of fixing itself. Its only recourse was to track down and prosecute file-sharers. Then along came Apple, a complete outsider, to show the way forward and put together the first site to offer a really wide range of legal music downloads.

Not bad for a company that looked ready to die in 1997.

So What?

At the heart of the Apple story were two new technologies MP3 (or similar music compression systems) and broadband Internet; without them none of its success would have happened. More importantly, Apples management were able to recognize that their experience in developing digital technologies would enable them to rapidly break into digital music and they used this expertise to market and launch a leading edge product before their competitors were able to recognize the change that was coming.

Broadband and MP3 enabled Apple to go from nowhere in the music industry to become a highly-influential industry player in a few short years. The underlying technologies have existed for some time high-speed Internet, file compression codecs and ever-higher-capacity, smaller data storage systems. Yet any industry analyst forecasting this scenario back in the late 1990s would have been dismissed as a dotcom-crazy fantasist but that did not stop the Apple management.

For decades big music companies dominated the music business. They looked after the promotion of the artists and their music, and the distribution of their LPs and later their CDs. It was only through them that artists could reach big audiences. But once the Internet was established and file-sharing was flourishing, the big music companies could see their grip on music distribution slipping.

All this had serious implications for all the traditional players who are between the artists who create products, and their audiences who consume them. And beyond the music business it has serious implications for any business who can size up a change in the market. Apples innovation was recognizing the shift from physical to digital product would (and could) continue and that they were well placed to capitalize on it.

The iPod+iTunes case history shows that there are probably existing technologies waiting to be configured and combined by smart entrepreneurs in such a way as to make current business models irrelevant. And its absolutely certain that soon-to-be-invented new technologies will be applied to leverage the Internet in ways that defy prediction today.

So heres a closing thought, the Apple story tells us that a key skill for manufacturing businesses in the 21st Century is the ability to spot trends early enough and to convert those trends into market-leading products and services, backed by effective marketing, as quickly as possible.
